Melbourne-based managed IT for businesses that need their technology to actually work. No jargon. No offshore helpdesks.
TechAssist has supported hundreds of Australian SMEs across construction, manufacturing, logistics, law firms, mining, and professional services. We’re a Melbourne-based team of 13 certified specialists who understand that when your IT goes down, your whole operation stops — and we treat it that way.
TechAssist was founded on a simple premise: Australian SMEs deserve enterprise-grade IT support without the enterprise price tag or the corporate runaround. After years of watching small businesses get underserved by big MSPs or overcharged by break-fix operators, we built the IT partner we’d want for our own business — direct, hands-on, accountable, and Melbourne-based.
Three phases. One dedicated team. No sales-to-delivery handoff drama.
01
We start by understanding how your business actually operates — on-site, on the road, or across multiple locations. Plain-English audit of your current environment, where it’s at risk, and what to fix first.
02
We design and implement IT that suits your operations — not a cookie-cutter template. Quick wins first, progressive improvements over time, fully documented along the way.
03
Ongoing monitoring, helpdesk, security, and strategy — all from the same team who built your environment. Quarterly reviews keep IT aligned with where the business is heading.
Six things that consistently come up when clients tell us why they stay.
Real people with real experience. Our core team combines decades of hands-on IT expertise with a genuine understanding of what Australian businesses need to stay productive and secure.
Director
Founder and Director. 15+ years in systems administration and Windows server support, CCNA and MCITP certified. Built TechAssist after watching too many SMEs — tradies, builders, manufacturers — get left behind by IT providers who didn’t understand their world. Every solution TechAssist delivers is built around how the business actually operates.
Service Manager
Service Manager bringing deep expertise across IT consulting, software engineering, and network infrastructure. Hands-on with cybersecurity, cloud platforms, and systems integration. Mitch leads service delivery — making sure tickets get resolved quickly, systems stay monitored, and nothing falls through the cracks.
Solutions Architect
Solutions Architect with over a decade across systems engineering, network infrastructure, and technical consulting. Diploma of Information Technology, MikroTik MTCNA certified. Previously at Beonic and URL Networks. Sam designs and deploys solutions that work in the real world — not just on paper.
Technical Specialist
Technical Specialist with broad experience across complex IT environments — including the Victorian government education sector. Strong on Level 1 and 2 support, CCTV systems, project management, and multi-site network administration. Studied IT at RMIT. Comfortable across every level of the stack.
Behind Matt, Mitch, Sam and Nick — a wider team of certified engineers, project specialists, and helpdesk staff. 13 certified specialists in total, all based in Melbourne, all employed (not contracted). When you ring, you get a person who knows your environment.
The IT-services market splits roughly into two: cheap break-fix shops and expensive enterprise MSPs. Neither serves Australian SMEs well. Break-fix is reactive — by the time they show up, the damage is done. Enterprise MSPs run frameworks designed for 5,000-staff organisations and bill accordingly.
We’re deliberately positioned in the middle. Proactive enough to catch problems before they hit your team. Right-sized for businesses where IT is critical but doesn’t justify a 6-person internal IT department. Built for the realities of Australian SMEs across trades, construction, manufacturing, logistics, law firms, mining, healthcare, and professional services.
Our team holds CCNA, Microsoft, MikroTik, and ACSC Essential Eight certifications. We’re a Microsoft Partner with Modern Work Solutions credentials and maintain partnership status across enterprise security vendors — SentinelOne, BitDefender, Sophos, ThreatLocker — so your environment runs the right tools at partner-tier pricing.
Every engineer holds vendor certifications across the platforms we deploy. We invest in ongoing training — quarterly internal CPD, vendor accreditation paths, and structured mentoring from senior to junior engineers. Your environment doesn’t get a junior learning on the job.
We’re based in Melbourne. Our team is in Melbourne. Our helpdesk is in Melbourne. When you call 1300 028 324, an Australian engineer answers — not a Manila call centre, not an offshore overflow team, not a virtual assistant with a North American accent.
That matters because Australian IT challenges have Australian context — the Privacy Act, ASIC, the ACSC Essential Eight, sector-specific regulators, Australian software stacks, Australian threat landscape. Our team understands all of it because they live in it daily.
If you’re tired of fighting with your IT, frustrated with your current provider, or building something that needs IT infrastructure that won’t get in the way — get in touch. Free IT health check, no obligation, real answers. We’ll tell you if we think we’re the wrong fit.
